Masquerade - The Best of Noël Coward with Nicky Spence

This year marks the fiftieth anniversary of Noël Coward’s death and a superb time to reevaluate his astonishing achievements, in music and words. Among the major celebrations have been Oliver Soden’s acclaimed recent biography, Masquerade, and a new recording of his sparkling songs by the award-winning tenor Nicky Spence.

Only at Jam on the Marsh have these two projects been brought together, with a concert celebrating Coward in all his many musical guises, interweaving his most famous numbers with some that are less familiar. Blues, operetta, jazz, parlour song, Broadway musicals, parody: Coward could do it all – luckily, so can Nicky Spence. With Oliver Soden as compère and host, reading from Coward’s sparkling poetry and witty correspondence, the afternoon promises to be a truly marvellous celebration.

This concert is part of Jam on the Marsh festival, taking place from 4-16 July in Romney Marsh, Kent.
