JS Bach's St Matthew Passion | New Cambridge Singers

Bach's Passion continues to move audiences nearly three centuries after it was first heard in St Thomas's Church in Leipzig, Germany. Standing as one of the pillars of Western sacred music, it is at once monumental and intimate, while being deeply sorrowful and powerful.

We are delighted to present this work in its full orchestration, with contributions from the Our Lady and The English Martyrs Song School Choir. The Cambridge Baroque Camerata, our regular orchestra, whose members are drawn from the most eminent period-instrument players in the country, join us for what is sure to be an utterly memorable evening.

This will be Graham Walker's final outing with us as Musical Director. While we look to the future with a new director, this will be the most wonderful concert to mark his 10 years of leading us.
