The Ionian Singers with pianist Natalia Williams-Wandoch, soprano Jocelyn Coates and conductor and pianist Timothy Salter perform a programme of instrumental, choral music and songs from the Romantic age to the present. The concert includes choral music by Elgar, Howells, Skempton, Barber, Seiber and Debussy, together with the first performance of Salter’s …the strangest Sea, a setting of Emily Dickinson poems for chorus and piano. Songs by Fauré and Chaminade as well as piano pieces by Debussy complement the choral music.
