Fresh from her sold out show at the London Jazz Festival, headliner Hohnen Ford is a young vocalist and songwriter already making waves on the UK's jazz scene.
Since studying jazz at the Royal Academy of Music, Hohnen Ford has developed a highly individual sound inspired by the songwriting of Joni Mitchell, Bjork, David Longstreth, Stevie Wonder, Big Thief, Gillian Welch, and the composers of the Great American Songbook. During the Coronavirus pandemic, she cultivated a devoted online audience through performances at her piano, live-streamed from her home to millions each week.
After creating her first EP, ‘Infinity’, she sold out her first solo headline shows last year, and joined friends Matt Maltese and Etta Marcus on their EU and UK tours.
This gig's unique collaboration, conceived specially for Whiddon Autumn Festival, sees Hohnen Ford join forces with young star jazz pianist Harry Baker and our very own Festival String Quartet to perform jazz favourites as well as Hohnen Ford's original material.
Relaxed gig, with drinks available from the bar throughout the evening.
